Pacifica Community Charter School is a progressive K-8 Charter School seeking creative, independent, self-motivated credentialed teachers to work in an alternative, humanistic, parent-participation elementary and middle school on the west side of Los Angeles.

We seek teachers and staff who possess the following attributes:

• Experience/Interest in humanistic, constructivist/experiential, education
• Experience/Interest in integrating state curriculum standards in a constructivist, experiential/ project based environment
• Experience/Interest in modeling and promoting non-violent inter-personal communication with peaceful conflict resolution & problem solving skills
• Commitment to child-initiated curriculum and actively providing a voice for children in most decision making processes.
• Experience/Interest in non-coercive, choice-based education
• Experience/interest in team teaching and multi-age learning environments
• Ability to work with multi-age groups of children ranging from 5 through 15
• Committed to learning and teaching in an environment that is concerned about social & environmental justice issues
• Interest in working in a collaborative environment
• Interest in actively working cooperatively with parents
• Commitment to building and growing a new-style learning community that is dedicated to lifelong-learning
